Monash Room Exhibition Program 2016/17

The Australian Consulate-General in New York seeks expressions of interest (EOI) from visual artists and designers for our exhibition program in the Monash Room between October 2016 and June 2017.

Culture has a vital role to play in strengthening Australia’s reputation as a sophisticated and creative nation with a confident, outward-looking arts sector. The Consulate seeks EOIs from Australian creatives who can help us project this image of Australia in New York.

Through promoting the work of Australian creatives, we hope to:

  • Establish networks and promote collaboration and exchange between Australian artists and arts organisations, and their international partners.
  • Expand audiences and markets for Australian artistic work and creative products.
  • Demonstrate the quality and breadth of Australian creative talent based in New York and our consular district (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, US Virgin Islands, Vermont).

EOIs are encouraged from artists representing a broad range of disciplines, age groups and experience. The Consulate particularly encourages EOIs from Australian Indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders and early career artists.

To apply, please review the EOI information pack, complete the EOI application form and submit this to nycg.events@dfat.gov.au by 5pm (EDT) Friday 26 August 2016.
